is an EC level 2 coach specializing in dressage. She has been an
instructor at Southlands Riding Club since 1997.
Kiersten studied dressage under Dietrich Vonhopffgarten for more than ten years.
In recent years she has been privileged to train with Leslie Reid. She rode and taught for Leslie at Top Fox stables in 2006 and 2007. During this time she competed on Twan, (owned by Jennifer Dance), Debuting his 6 year old and third level tests at Burbank and Sacramento with great success. Twan is currently being targeted as Leslie Reid's up and coming F.E.I. prospect.
Kiersten regularly takes part in clinics with international riders including: Ellen Bontje, Conrad Schumaker, Willy Arts, and Colonel Carde.
She trained her own horse, Nexus, to Intermediere 1. The team competed regularly throughout Vancouver and the States.
Her students have been very successful in the competition arena as well. She is proud to train fellow coach and riders Brittany Moore and Eleanor Klawer who both rode their first Prix St George tests this year. As well, her student Lisa Ferguson became a Canadian team listed rider in three day eventing. A big accomplishment for all of us!
Kiersten enjoys teaching dressage enthusiasts of any age and level. She is happy to help her students prepare for schooling shows all the way to the F.E.I ring!
