Show Jumping Clinic with Maximilian “Max” Schönenberger
August 7–8, 2026

Join us for a focused two-day training clinic with German show jumping trainer Maximilian Schönenberger, bringing the precision and structure of the European system to Southlands.

With over eight years of international coaching experience and a background developing youth riders in Germany, Max is known for his clear, systematic approach to building confident, effective partnerships between horse and rider.

At the core of Max’s philosophy is the belief that “rhythm before height – control creates confidence.” His training emphasizes consistency in the canter, understanding distance, and developing a reliable system that riders can carry forward into competition. Rather than quick fixes, Max focuses on the why behind each exercise, creating long-term improvement and confidence in the ring.

Riders can expect a structured progression over the two days, working on:

Establishing rhythm and balance
Improving distance awareness and accuracy
Developing control and rideability on course elements
Building confidence for both horse and rider

Max has extensive experience working with a wide range of riders—from grassroots amateurs to competitive athletes—as well as young, sensitive, or high-energy horses. His calm, methodical system is particularly effective for riders looking to gain confidence and clarity in their riding.

• 2-Day Group Clinic (2-hour sessions): $360 + GST
• 1-Day Option: $200 + GST
• Private Lessons: $220 + GST (1-hour)
